The Related Arts Department September Month in Review: Related Arts Month in Review
Sixth-grade science students at Reutter School explored the concept of density in their weather unit through a delicious hands-on investigation. Instead of just learning about air and water, the students used popular chocolate candies like Kit-Kats, Rolos, and Hershey's Kisses to discover the relationship between mass and volume. This creative lesson allowed them to see how varying densities affect interactions and movement, providing a tangible way to understand a recurring scientific theme. By connecting a fun, everyday treat to a core concept, the students gained a deeper and more memorable understanding of density.

Fifth grade art students at Reutter School are learning about the fundamentals of observational drawing in Miss Heritage's Art classes. By using still-life objects, students are learning to translate what they see in three dimensions onto a two-dimensional surface.
Pictured are students carefully observing the unique shapes, textures, and shadows of the pumpkins to accurately capture their forms. This exercise helps students sharpen their attention to detail, understand perspective, and improve their hand-eye coordination. It's an exciting and hands-on way for our young artists to develop their skills and appreciate the world around them through a creative lens.

The hallways of Caroline L. Reutter School are once again filled with the energy and excitement of students and staff as the new school year officially begins today, September 4, 2025. This day marks the start of another year of learning, growth, and community for our students.
The school is particularly thrilled to welcome three new educators to its family: Miss Madison Jacobs, Miss Madison Johnson, and Miss Sarah Williamson. These dedicated teachers bring fresh perspectives and passion to our classrooms, and we are confident they will make a significant impact on our students' lives.
"On behalf of the entire Reutter School community, I want to extend a warm welcome back to all of our students and staff," said Mr. Theodore Peters, Principal of Caroline L. Reutter School. "We are especially delighted to have Miss Jacobs, Miss Johnson, and Miss Williamson join us. As they embark on this new chapter in their careers, we wish them all the best and look forward to the wonderful contributions they will make. May this be a fantastic school year for all!"
The Caroline L. Reutter School community is looking forward to a year of academic success, memorable events, and continued collaboration between teachers, students, and families.
