Principal's Message

Reutter School Families,

Dear Parents and Guardians:

At last, spring has arrived!  As you know, it is much harder to keep the students’ focus on academics when the beautiful weather is beckoning our attention.  You too may be experiencing SPRING FEVER!!

However, to whatever extent you can, please continue to encourage your child to be attentive to their school work.  The last three months of school require great effort from students since “the end is in sight!”  Although the students are very much excited to attend our end of the year field trips, activities, and events, it is important to remind them that they need to stay attentive to their academics and behavior.

Students participated in an assembly on March 28 to review the appropriate student academic, behavioral, and school norms that should be exhibited at the Caroline L. Reutter School.  Students were reminded that although the weather might be getting warmer, we are not finished with our learning path for this academic year.  End of year events and privileges were highlighted at the conclusion of the assembly in order to provide positive motivation for a strong finish to the school year.

The great strides students have made this year can easily be lost during this time of the school year if students lose their focus.

I encourage all parents to reiterate our message of developing strong academic minds and demonstrating positive behavior.  As always, your help is appreciated!

This week, our PTO will be sponsoring their annual Scholastic Buy-One, Get-One Free Book Fair.  I would encourage all students to take advantage of this unique opportunity to add to their personal book collections with the BOGO offer.  Students are scheduled to go to the book fair during their normally scheduled library times.  There will also be an evening book fair for CLR Families on Wednesday, April 5 from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.

Parents are reminded that we will be having a single session day on Thursday, April 13 (12:10 p.m. dismissal) and school will be closed from Friday, April 14 through Thursday, April 20 for spring break.  We WILL have school on Friday, April 21 in order to make-up a snow day from this winter

As the weather continues to get warmer, students are reminded to wear clothing that is aligned with our district’s dress code policy.  The policy is listed on page 4 of this month’s newsletter.  Students in violation of the policy are subject to discipline as listed in the Code of Student Conduct.

Educationally Yours,

Mr. Theodore Peters
