Principal's Message

Reutter School Families:

As we proceed into the middle of the month, our school family is reminded of the current focus core value for February, Respect.  Our students are taught through their weekly advisory lessons and morning meetings the importance of respecting one another as well as valuing each other's unique qualities.  Next week, our character development advisory lessons will focus on Random Acts of Kindness.  As Amelia Earhart commented, "A single act of kindness throws out roots in all directions, and the roots spring up and make new trees."  Students will be engaging in discussions focusing on the connection between the relationship of our core value, respect, and acts of kindness.  As a recognized Anti-Defamation League No Place for Hate School, the promotion for treating others with respect and well as respecting oneself will be core messages that will resonate throughout the remainder of our school year through our different character development measures.

Next week, our PTO will be holding a McDonald's Fundraiser.  Come out to the Malaga McDonald's from 5 PM - 7 PM on Thursday, February 20 to support our PTO.  School administration and teachers will be serving guests from behind the counter during the fundraiser.  Proceeds will directly provide funding for:
* All-Star Student Recognition Program
* Yearbooks
* School-Wide Field Day

Our Board of Education has embarked on a strategic planning initiative that engages all stakeholders of the community in the future planning of our school system.  They would like to invite the community to provide input into the strategic planning process.   Please complete a survey at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/twpfranksurvey in order to provide your personal insight about our school system.  Additional information regarding the strategic planning process can be found on our district's website at www.franklintwpschools.org.

Parents for Positive Change is a special education advisory committee made up of parents who want to have a voice for our children in the school district.  There will be a meeting at the District's Administrative Building on February 18 at 7 PM.  The goal of the committee is to nurture a positive change through inclusion for our children. The children benefit, the parents benefit and the community benefits when we can all collaborate on making changes for the future. The committee also organizes outings for the children and the parents. By working together we have a bigger, louder voice to be heard.
