Reutter School Families,
Dear Parents (s)/Guardian:
Welcome to February, a time of renewal, friendship, and growth. At this time of the year we look toward the end of the winter season, with increasing amounts of sunlight, and the beginning of spring. We focus on two particular presidents and the contributions they made to our government. We are also halfway through the school year.
The teachers and instructional aides have been doing a tremendous job educating students over the first two marking periods.
In an effort to provide additional preparation for the upcoming End of the Year Assessment without taking away vital time from our math and language arts classes, the enrichment schedule will be modified starting with the week of February 27. Students will now start to receive additional time dedicated to math and language arts cumulative content review each week during the enrichment period. In most cases, the enrichment cumulative review classes will be taught by your child’s math and language arts teachers. Please note that the modified enrichment period will not affect those students who are already pulled for basic skills instruction, reading assistance, Project THINK, instrumental music, Project CREATE, speech, counseling, occupational therapy, or physical therapy.
On the evening of March 7 we will be hosting several events to help bridge the school—home connection. Starting at 7 PM, there will be a presentation about the upcoming state assessment being held in May. Following the assessment presentation, there will be a PTO meeting and then a Parent Advisory Committee meeting. Parents are encouraged to attend this evening of engagement in our school community.
Feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the modified enrichment schedule.
