Congratulations to Mr. Dennis Burlingame for being selected as the 2017 Caroline L. Reutter School Teacher of the Year!  Mr. Burlingame has served as the Reutter School Health and Physical Education Teacher for the past 16 of his 17 years in education.  During this time, Mr. Burlingame has been a dedicated teacher, role model, and overall “wonderful” person to his colleagues and students.

Mr. Burlingame’s colleagues have stated the following positive remarks, “Dennis ...can be found with a huge smile on his face no matter what time of day it is, and he has developed relationships that are unique and special to each individual student.  The students love Mr. “B”, they always have a great story to tell and you feel honored to be able to share in the fun that they are having when the students talk about him.  Dennis cares about the students and wants nothing more than to see them succeed; he challenges them in a way that makes them feel successful…”

School Principal, Mr. Ted Peters, has described Mr. Burlingame as a “key, essential team player and leader within the school community.  He readily assists his colleagues and administration with ensuring that the school functions effectively.”

Mr. Burlingame received his undergraduate degree in health and physical education from Rowan University and his Master’s in Educational Leadership from Wilmington College.

Family is also a very important part of Mr. Burlingame’s life as he often enjoys spending time watching his children play sports or spending time with his family down in Cape May.  Mr. Burlingame and his wife Sheri have three children, Jonathon and Madison who attend school in the Kingsway Regional High School District and Cailon who attends school in the East Greenwich School District.  Continuing with his passion of sports, Mr. Burlingame is also the baseball coach for Kingsway Regional High School.
