Colonial Day 2019

Colonial Day:

(written by Blaise Leonardo)

Several 5th grade classes at Reutter School recently took part in “Colonial Day”. It was a fun way to show our parents what we learned in Social Studies. To prepare, we researched and wrote about colonial life. In this essay, we detailed the colonies’ natural resources, crops, daily life, climate, geography, famous people, founding, name and industries, and why we would have wanted to live there. Along with the essay, we made a prop that represented a tool that people would have used during colonial times. We also had the option to dress in a colonial costume for the event.  Pictured are (back row) Jayden Elie, Ranae Haney, Julia Dennis, Aris Williams, and (front row) Taylor Schneider, Rosie Weichmann, and Christian Maier.
