Principal's Message

Reutter School Family,

As we get further into the month of December, our students continue to actively participate in a variety of different activities.  This week, the students enjoyed shopping for their families in the Annual PTO-sponsored Holiday Shop.  On Friday evening, we will be holding our Sixth Grade Winter Wonderland Dance and next Thursday evening our band and chorus will delight us with holiday-inspired musical selections.  The student council has also designed a winter holiday-themed spirit week for the upcoming week of school.  (More information regarding the spirit week is contained in the weekly overview section of this message.)

A reminder that student report cards were distributed to all students today (Thursday) along with a review of their attendance for the first trimester and a clarification sheet for Standards Based Grading (SBG).  Our district SBG Committee provided you with a clarification sheet so that you can have a better understanding of how your child is performing in school.

Earlier this week our Superintendent, Mr. Walton, shared a three-paged informational letter to all parents regarding recent testing results of our school's drinking water.  As outlined in the letters, the drinking water at our school was slightly above the USEPA Gross Alpha and Radium 226/228 acceptable limits.  It is important to note that the acceptable limits are set extremely low to ensure the water supply is safe to drink.  With that, this is not an emergency, but simply notification of the test results and the corrective actions that the district is taking to continue to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Below are a highlight of events occurring over the next week:

Holiday-Inspired Spirit Week: Red & Green Day

Holiday-Inspired Spirit Week: Dress as your Favorite Character Day

A reminder that school will resume session on Thursday, January 2.

Visit us on twitter using the #ReutterRocks to follow frequently updated notices about the school.

I would like to wish all families a safe and happy holiday season.
